Strange, can'y get enough adjustment at the track rods

PostPost by: JCR1 » Thu Jul 26, 2018 5:56 pm

I've been racing an S4 this year and thought I would sort out the lack of camber on the LHF. I achieved the camber but when I went to adjust the toe I found that both track rods were at their full adjustment (fully in) i.e. I need toe in but they wont screw in any further! Does anyone have any ideas to the cause, does it mean I should remove material from the track rod ends or the track rod ? (cutting the ends is cheaper :-)
Has anyone come across this before ? any help advice appreciated ,

Common problem, I?ve had the same, ended up getting a new set of track rod ends. Before you cut them down check the depth of the thread in the rod.

Track rod ends having the right thread and taper vary in length.
Moog make the shortest which should give you the adjustment you need.
RO ES 0545 Did the trick for me.
