What are the current recommendations for brake pads for the street?

NOS Ferodo DS 11's worth fitting??

Great article. I'd guess DS11 composition must have changed since those days though. They can't still be made of " randomly aligned chrysotile (white) asbestos fibres, bound together by a matrix of various resins" can they? Or are we now getting a version made up with "Kevlar, steel and other fibres"? If they are is the name on the box the only thing they have in common with the version from the 'good old days'?

The NOS could easily be 'proper' material - just don't dust them off when you work on them!
