Oh Oh... I knew that answer when I replaced mine, but I've forgettten.
I suspect the long ones go front as they have to cope with the steering rotation.

BTW Bill, that looks like an elegant solution to holding those lines. I'm fitting old stock "Goodridge" braided stainless and, though a tight fit, I don't think the diameter at the hex is as large. Am kinda wishing I had gone to the dual Datsun master...especially since the hand brake is so hard to get to and probably not as effective as the other British cars I'm familiar with. At least it hasn't a very big pad bearing area.
