front spring/shock assembly

PostPost by: dgym » Sun Sep 13, 2015 8:50 pm

just pulled my front assembly apart with the help of this forums' brilliant members.
I've found rubber washers at the top and bottom of the spring, they fit between the spring and the shocker perch/collet. Is this normal?
I also have flat rubber wrapped around the body of the shock..is that normal?

cheers,
-Jim

I don't recall rubber between the spring and the collet although it's a while ago now since I did the job. There was a rubber sheath on the damper body though, I assume it was to stop noise of the spring rubbing on the body.

It is certainly normal to have a rubber washer between the spring and perch Jim, afraid I cannot remember if there is one at the collet end, but do not think so.
