Purchased what are supposed to be new Lucas upper ball joints for a Spitfire from a guy on eBay with lots of good feedback. Came in a green Lucas box with p/n GSJ155L. Says Triumph Spitfire, GT6 on the carton. No markings on the parts whatsoever as to manufacturer or p/n.
New parts won't go on the upper arms of the S1.
Old part measures 1.500 center-to-center, new part measures 1.563, or 1/16" over.
Something's not adding up. Can someone verify hole spacing and/or part number for me please?

Scott,
Can't help with the measurements as I am OS at the moment. I ordered a set of Triumph Spitfire balljoints from one of the large Triumph suppliers, and found that they were longer. To achieve the correct dimensions for toe, I had to run a plug tap all of the way to the bottom of the hole. I then had to use a half size locknut, as there was not enough room for the original nut.
I then ordered another set from Amsteer in the UK, and they are correct.
Cheers,
Colin.
