Four pot brake upgrade.

Hi all

I have a new shiny upgrade to my front brakes.

I would like to keep my old style hoses as they are brand new, and I am not a fan of braided hard line hoses.

Does anyone know where I can get a fitting to convert 3/8 UNF hose to M10/1?

A banjo fitting with a 3/8 female thread would be ideal, or a 3/8 UNF female to M10/1 male would do it but I would be less keen as it would stick out a lot might be prone to damage.

Why don't you make up two new nylon/braided stainless hoses UNF one end Metric the other..

Interested in the 4-pots, is this for an Elan or +2?

Where did you get them from?

I have +2 discs / calipers on an S2 Elan, ...... & these seem to stop / last pretty well under extreme track type conditions, but would 4-pots really do any better bearing in mind the minimal weight they are stopping?

What about vented discs?

As suggested above, any combination of end fittings can be made up to suit whatever - my local motor factors can do this.

Hi.
The correct fitting for an Elan has a banjo adaptor at the caliper end, all you do is to use a M10 x 1 banjo bolt in place of the UNF 3/8 used on the Girling original.

Hi all
To answer the Q about the calliper it is actually for a Morgan but it is the same Girling casting as the Elans I think.

They are from HiSpec in Kent and they are the Billet 4 M14 unit spaced for 12mm discs.

They list the same billet for Elans, they cost me ?453 with pads and hoses.

I will be returning the hoses as I don't like stainless steel covered hoses, I prefer the rubber type with steel coil protectors.

I have found a supply for the thread adaptor from the USA but I will be putting a post about that separately.
