Installing Stromberg carbs

I cheat by fixing each o-ring to the intake manifold with three drops of super glue. Then you know they are in place as you tighten up the carbs.
If you take things apart in future the super glue comes off easily enough.

I've always fixed them to the manifold with a smear of grease. When you put the carbs on the studs you can easily see if they're still in place.

Thanks, If I remember correctly that's how I took them off. I rebuilt the carbs, bolted the carbs to the adapters and then installed the carb adapter/combo onto the manifold. I used a skim of Pliobond to hold the o-ring in place. The rear lower adapter nut was easy to install, once I jacked the engine up a bit for more clearance to the body.
Thanks

Pretty happy with the install so far. Carbs were running lean, so I raised my non adjustable needles and it now runs much better, but still slightly lean at idle. I had rebuilt my carbs with the jets installed at .097" to the center of the jets. I will now use my Volvo jet tool to lower the jets to about .115 " and see how the engine runs. I might have to lower the needles back to flush in the piston.
