fuel filter - mechanical pump

PostPost by: SENC » Sun Oct 24, 2021 12:16 am

I'd installed a Fram fuel filter between the AC fuel pump and Webers on my Seven last Fall. As I was putting things back together, I grabbed the filter and gave the fuel line that was on it to twist it off for replacement - with very little pressure, it snapped. I was surprised how brittle had become after just a little use and then sitting (empty). Needless to say, I decided not to replace it with another of the same filter, and just went without for now. Any recommendations for a small inline filter for use between mechanical pump and carbs?

I use the metal Napa made by Donaldson #3003 I think or #3004 is larger I believe?
There are metal glass ones out there $$$ but, replicable filters can be had!

An additional filter is not necessary as there is already a fine gauze filter in the fuel pump and in each carburettor float chamber.

As William above states. I have never used a filter, never needed one, never had a problem. D
