Weber throttle cable to Peddle Box - Assembly sequence?

PostPost by: pharriso » Sat Apr 24, 2021 10:16 pm

I am replacing the throttle cable on my LHD Sprint, converted to Webers. I am not going to assume that the existing throttle cable was assembled correctly.

Looks like there are at least 2 assembly sequences possible... I assembled it firstly like this:

where the peddle box would be next to the washer

The 2nd nut would act as a locking nut, given the importance of the cable a good thing.

Assembled like this there is a lot of slack in the cable & would take virtually all of the adjustment in the cable.

Thinking about it over a cup of tea, the cable could be assembled like:

Again, peddle box would be adjacent to the washer

Assembled this way it could take out an additional 1/2" of the slack in the cable.

Is the 2nd assembly sequence OK?

I believe your second option is correct, but my experience is mainly Plus 2 based.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine!
