Weber cold start unit and idle

PostPost by: Concrete-crusher » Sat Nov 24, 2018 9:19 am

I have noticed the stop lug that?s cast into the cold start unit is missing on one of my Weber carbs , does it make any difference ?

The engine runs really well , and I never use the choke , but when it?s upto temperature the idle increases from around 800rpm to 1000rpm and I can?t work out why

Mine does the same thing, and I'm missing the lug on my front weber. It's a bit cranky when cold too, needs a few prods to keep it running on cold start. Very happy once it's warmed up.

Mine is similar. I put it down to o things like carb mounting o rings warming up.

I too get a faster tickover when the engine's fully warm.
Now I know others are the same I'll stop thinking I might do something about it!

Probably merely that your engine oil is less sticky when it is warm.
