Hat's Off, Weber Float Hinge's

Guys..
Just thought it might be worth sharing this.
I recently picked up a couple of Weber 40DCOE (18 + 27) carbs second hand. When I removed the tops, found the Float Hinge Pins had at some point been damaged, and a previous owner had done a repair. ( Worth checking before buying off course, but not always possible)
I had always thought that a broken Float Hinge Pin was ?End Game? for these carb tops, but obviously not, as it would appear these have been fitted for quiet some time.
Not exactly aesthetically pleasing, and I?m not sure how accurate obtaining the correct float-level was, but I guess it?s an option if you don?t have a replacement top.

It's always nice to see creativity in repairing mechanical devices... as for the floats the bottom line being the smoothness of operation for proper opening and closing of the valve. May be ok for a while or for one's own use, probably more difficult to sell to someone else.
