Dellorto Choke - Rough Surface

When I stripped down my Dellorto carbs I noticed that 2 of the 4 30mm chokes seemed to have a rough surface on the inside. Can this be caused by wear and tear i.e. gradual erosion by the petrol/air mixture or is it more likely that a previous owner has caused this? Also, could it upset the airflow at all?

Is it casting porosity? I have seen this in some chokes
