Dellorto Fuel Pump Movement

Can anyone advise how much movement there should be on the fuel pump lever when the butterfly is opened fully? I wanted to check this while I have the carbs off the car.

All I know is that you want them to squirt fuel about 6 foot when you rapidly open the butterfly.

Note that the squirt is controlled by the springs etc on a return stroke and is independent of the speed with which the butterfly is opened (provided it is faster than the springs etc).

I don't think it is the stroke that is measured but the volume of fuel squirted..
