Fitting stromberg carbs

Gentlemen,
I've finally recieved a set of Pistons and got the engine put back together.
On trying to start up, it's not even firing.
There is spark and compression, but no fuel.
On inspection it appears that there is little suction at the mouth of the carbs when I'm turning the engine on the starter so I suspect an air leak.
My manual only seems to cover webers, so could anyone lay out the procedure to fit the carbs?
I just bolted them on and put the O ring in between the carbs and the adapter. Is this correct?

I got it started!
Turns out that the O rings that I was supplied, were the incorrect size.
I used a couple of generic, but too thick rings, that sealed and the car flashed right up.
Hopefully I'll get to drive this car with a week or so!
