Fuel Pipe Pump Connections

PostPost by: William2 » Sat Jan 10, 2015 11:35 am

On my Elan restoration I am using the standard glass bowl type fuel pump. Does the black nylon pipe from the fuel tank connect straight to the pump or should the pump be fitted with a metal tail pipe and then connected to the tank pipe with a short rubber hose? Also on the carburettor side, should the pump be fitted with a tail pipe?
Currently, my pump only has union nuts fitted on the outlets.

Mine is connected as your second option. Short rubber pipe to metal tail pipes at both inlet to and outlet from the pump.
