Dellorto DHLA 45's Swap

I have a matched pair of Dellorto DHLA 45's and am looking to swap these for a similar pair of 40's.

Location Cheshire.

I'm not an expert on carbs,so can only advise the identification on the bodies:-

Stamped 02606 and 02507

Tags R5230A and R5229P

Chokes are 38

Does this mean anything to you?

Dave,

Is there a suffix following the DHLA 45 or 45 DHLA stamping? This suffix identifies later versions of the carbs.

Early versions of the carbs had no suffix. In the 40 DHLA world, the early carbs had 3-progression holes and were designed to get on the mains as soon as possible. Later versions, had additional progression holes to extend the transition zone (C, D, E) or accommodate turbo boost (G). Still later versions (H and higher), were emission carbs and limited tuning options.

A change of plans, going for a BDP alloy block based 2-liter engine, in lieu of a 1.6 liter engine, necessitates an increase in carburation.

My 40's were rebuilt, setup, and dry stored, with extra tuning parts. What is the history behind your 45's?

sorry to be negative.....

but no suffix and no history!

The carbs came to me as part of an unfinished resto project.

The previous owner had bought the 45's,but perhaps didn't realise they didn't suit.
