Small metal filter in fuel pump dislodged

Hi folks - the metal filter in the fuel pump on my 69 S4 was dislodged. I took it apart and put the filter back in place, but it's a loose fit - I'm not sure if it's supposed to fit snugly on or snap down somehow. My guess is that it will likely dislodge again when I get the carbs back on and get the car running.
Should this filter be fitting more tightly within the pump? anyone else had this happen? if so, how did you address the problem?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
Rich

The filter is normally just a snug fit over the flange but yours looks a little different from what I remember, as I recall it is brass fitting where yours appears to have a plastic flange.......I don't recall seeing one like that before.

Hi that filter doesn't look original. I have a spare you can have for nix if you want it, for cost of postage from Sydney (which will be minimal). Robert

Brian, Robert - thanks for your replies. Yes, the flange on the screen is indeed plastic.
Robert, I'll gladly take you up on your kind offer to send out the spare you have. Thanks - appreciate it - I'll send you a message.

Robert - I wanted to confirm that the fuel pump screen arrived in the mail yesterday, and I installed it today. The one you provided snapped down snugly - it definitely fits MUCH better than the one that was previously on the pump.
Next step, getting the carbs installed this week...
Thanks again! I really appreciate you sending out the part. The beers are on me if I ever get to Australia.
