Standard tank fuel pipe fitting

Can anyone explain to me how the standard black nylon fuel pipe attaches to a normal Elan S4/Sprint steel fuel tank?

If you plan to stay with the OEM 1'4" OD black nylon fuel line, the easiest solution is to use a brass hose barb fitting. They are very inexpensive and if clearance is a problem, fit a right angle one. Then, a short piece of standard rubber fuel line is used to join the hose barb to the black nylon fuel line - just like Lotus did on many of their cars at the factory.

My reproduction Elan gas tanks use an NPT weld bung for the tank pickup tube outlet. Fiarly flush to the tank sidewall and only protrude about 1/4". BTW, I also supply adapters in a variety of types and sizes, for the guys who want AN fuel hoses or require greater flow for EFI applications. IIRC, the minimum size specified for high pressure EFI pumps is dash 6. HTH.
