Accelerator cable bracket Stromberg

Hi fellow Elan owners,
Can someone please see if they have a photograph of the bracket that the accelerator cable attaches to on the rocker box for a Stromberg head Elan? my car lost it's Webber head some time in it's life and I have jury rigged a bracket but it is very hard with this bracket to get a smooth take off so I think I probably could make one if I knew what it looked like.
Just been for a drive, never fails to put a smile on my face.

Hi Tony,
I think I have one spare. If I do I can send it onto you if you like? My brother lives in Perth but is coming home to Scotland for a few days next month. I could send it with him. I have to pop out right now but should be able to get back to you in a few hours.
Regards,
Peter

Hi Tony,
I found the item but found that it has been sliced in half! It can still be used but it doesn't have the second bolt hole for added stability. My +2 has something similar and it works well. I can post it to you if you want a stop gap.

Peter

Peter,
Thanks for the offer I am time rich at the moment so I will have ago at making one as per the drawing from Elanman, seems pretty simple so I should be OK the onlt issues I have is that my rocker cover is a Webber head one and not a Stromberg so I will have to drill the rocker box.

The Stromberg cam cover has a flat mounting for the bracket and threaded bosses cast in for the securing bolts. Unless your Weber cam cover is a Big Valve one which is flat topped you will need to shape the foot of the bracket slightly to match the rounded top of the cover - or make a shaped packer to fit under it.
Most conversions are from Stromberg to Weber heads so you may find someone on here has a Stromberg cover they would be willing to swap with yours.

Tony,
That's no problem. I actually have a spare stromberg cam cover if you want to swap! It might save you drilling a good cam cover.

Hi Peter,
Too late job done this afternoon, the cam cover was a tad thin so I used a two nylock nuts as well as loctite, I got the point regarding the shape of the cam cover and put a slight bend in the bracket to compensate.
The accelerator is now nice and smooth.
Thanks for all the offers and help.
