Leaking Webers

Hi all,
Wondering if someone can help please. I have webers fitted and noticed some fuel leaking from the airbox after the car had sat for a few days in the garage. I took the airbox off and had a look around and found that the acclerator jets are dripping fuel, all at different rates but one of them is producing a drip every couple of minutes.
I have only just finshed restoring the car and, apart from going to the MOT station, it has not been driven on the road. I stripped and rebuilt the carbs using a weber kit and also set the float levels, although I will be checking these again just in case they are too high and causing the problem. Car starts and seems to run ok, hard to tell to much when I did drive it as the throttle cable was playing up, that is sorted now.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Chris.

Hi Chris - Sounds like the floats are set too high. What typo carbs do you have and what did you set the float too

Hi Chris,
Does sound like high float levels. When you check, give the floats a shake to listen for any petrol inside, it's possible you have a hole and the float may be sinking and raising fuel level. Also check that fuel tank is not building up pressure due to a blocked breather.
cheers

My first thought was float levels as well, either set too high or a leaking float. But if you're stripping them down I'd also check the inlet valve seal isn't allowing residual line pressure to weep into the float chamber and also the accelerator pump piston/ball is free to move. Faults in the latter would explain different drip rates across the chokes, but usually with me they've stuck closed and not let any fuel pass at all !
