Air ducting - filter to air box

PostPost by: jono » Fri Mar 30, 2012 7:43 am

I need to replace the tatty ducting which came with my +2 - sort of cardboard type stuff full of holes

What is the latest thinking on this? I would like it to look 'correct' but be something a bit better in terms of being able to get it around the pinch point between the front scuttle and bonnet cross member and something which wont split of hole too easily.

What I really want I suppose is a modern version of the original which looks similar but is technically better.

Thoughts/advice apreciated.

Cheers

I can recommend the one Cliveboy sells, it?s much more flexible than the original which rubbed a hole through to the wheel arch on my car.

I bought the original type from Sue Miller. I think it looks right and probably has better sound absorbing qualities than the plastic type with helical wire in. I think once in place it lasts well - my last one lasted about 25 years - but you do have to be careful when installing it as it can de-laminate if handled roughly. I dont know the Cliveboy option so cannot comment there.
All the best

Since posting the above I had a look at Cliveboy's website - his offering looks just fine to me so maybe in 25years time I'll buy one of his!
