balancing the throughts

how do i balance the throughts on the same carb the carbs are 40 dcoe webber 131 .on the 151 they have seperate adjusting screws on 131 there is nothing.in the manual it says you have to twist the spindle this scares me a bit and seems brutal is there another way i need help kind regards mike

Mike,
You've really only got two choices. Twist the spindle until it bends. Otherwise drill a small air bleed hole through the butterfly of the one with the lesser airflow. In reality there are usually three throughts to adjust the airflow on though so drilling the holes is the only way to do it correctly.
