throttle return spring bracket

This shows (almost!) the bracket on my Dellorto set-up, there is a small hole in the bottom of the bracket which the return spring is anchored to.
Cheers,
Pete.

Although I am running Zenith Stromberg carbs, I like your design. I will have to look at the car tomorrow but I believe I can attach a bracket as you have from behind the casting using longer bolts.
I would appreciate any additional photos or information/suggestions.
Thanks
Bob

RD Enterprises has a neat low profile throttle return spring hookup that is more positive than the original layout and does not need the airbox. I don't know if it's available on the right side of the pond or not

How did you attach the throttle return spring?

Hi Bob,
Why replace the standard airbox? Except that it is a little too shallow for the #4 weber venturi it is an excellent design. It pulls cool air from the nose where 2 carb mounted filters would get warm air.
I used a K&N cone filter in the nose since the original filter was long gone by the time I got the car. Now that I have the weber engine in the car, I am planning on reshaping the fiberglass box to add more depth in the rear. I can see with a right hand driver that would not be a good option, but with a lhd driver it seems to me to be the best method.
Just my 2 cents and not worth much more than that.

I have zenith stromberg carbs not webers.
I replaced the air box because I ran out of room in the nose for the air filter. I added one Lockheed brake booster to this already cramped area.
The K & N's were my only option as the Pipercross or ITG filters are too large. At least hat is what I was told. I would have to measure as Piper Cross offers a filter that covers two strombergs and is just under one inch in height.
Anyone attached any of these to a LHD +2 with Zenith Stromberg carbs.?

On my car the previous owner has removed what is I assume is the original lower bracket where the throttle cable hooks through, and has then riveted it in place into the backplates of the K&N's. For the top return spring a simple L shaped bracket is bolted through the same plate on which to attach the spring. Simple and not too pretty but it works. I will modify and make it neater when time permits.
Mark.

I was sold the round K & N filters. The front filter contacts the hood (bonnet) and I have removed them in favor of the original fiberglass air box using the trunking and a K & N cone filter in the nose. I have yet to mount the cone filter so I assume as all things lotus are a pain in the &%^$^%& it will be an ordeal.
Of course this was discovered after I designed and had fabricated a return spring bracket that worked great.
So it goes.
