Yes, cut and weld I guess, sadly I don't have welding kit or skill so I'll have to farm it out.
Graeme - my original lever gives 5 inches of travel which is very long compared with my other non Lotus classic cars. I'm sure it is as original, but I think the travel was originally made long as standard because of the Rotaflex couplings and their tendency to surge. As I have CV joint driveshafts I'd like a sharper throttle response, hence the search for a shorter lever.

There you go, had a dig around in the loft.
Apologies, it's 45mm, which is about 1 and 3/4 " for those in the colonies.
This is the Syvecs throttle linkage. I have the TTR one too but preferred the action and angles of the cables of this one.

An alternative would be move the point that the throttle cable connects to the throttle pedal closer to the pivot point which led have the same effect. It would require an additional hole to be drilled in the top of the foot well to allow a direct action.
