Airbox gasket sealing backplate and cover

there were multiple verions of the air box shape and bolting. A general trend was 1 bolt on the early covers, 2 on the middle covers ( about 68 on) and 3 on the late covers ( about 70 on)

Hello,
I know about the bolts and its time sequence; what I don't know is the correct shape of the nose for elan sprint; the part going down in line with the trunking pipe. It is curved in different way from elan and elan plus two. On. Plus2 looks more straight.
I am looking for the right spare part. Thank you and all the best.

Just successfully did the Toyota valve cover gasket Weber air box seal. The seal will only work on the later rectangular air boxes (later Elan, +2 and Seven), not the early oval type box. The Felpro gasket number; VS 26041 R. Toyota 4 KC, 3K, 4KC, engine 1968-83. I paid, $10 USD on E-Bay with free shipping. At one time this was a popular parts house item. The Toyota valve cover gasket is not flat and does not attach to the metal backing plate. The Toyota rubber gasket is, "U" shaped, fits on to the fiberglass air box cover. The air box cover should not have a flat flange that fits against the metal backing plate. It is simple to grind off any flat flange on the fiberglass cover, make sure the bottom of the cover is flat. The Toyota gasket will slip over the fiberglass cover, no need to use any adhesives. The assembly fits nicely into the metal backing plate (at least on my car). I had to shorten the middle bolt as it was too long. I had tried various sealing methods, slit round fuel line, even door weather strip, this fits well.
While having the air box on the bench, I noticed that if one wants to use a flat flange fiberglass air box, a small block Chevrolet valve cover gasket would fit if cut, the corner radius fits the metal backing plate. Hopefully this all makes sense, if not feel free to contact me. Once again, this worked for me, might not work for others.
