Weber 40 DCOE OEM type carb Lotus lever cable barrel

PostPost by: loueelotus » Sun Mar 21, 2021 3:28 am

I am updating my webers with some new parts . Just wanted to know if the Lotus lever cable barrel is in the correct position. I would assume so because wire throttle spring protects the Lotus lever cable barrel opening the way it looks..The car is RHD..

Regards,
Lou

I don't see the throttle return spring, though I do see the hole through which the end fits.

I've always fitted mine the other way round so it is much easier to disconnect the cable: just depress the lever and lift out the sleeve followed by the wire's bullet from the bracket below.

One annoyance I used to have was the bullet finding it's way out of the bracket while adjusting things so I trap it with the spring. It's easy to slide the spring sideways to release it again.
