New S4 Fuel tank from Axminster Specialists

One of my projects for later this summer will be to replace the fuel tank in my S4. After doing some research on this forum I decided to purchase a new tank from Axminster Specialist Panels in England. I contacted them at the beginning of April and was fortunate that they had a one window available to build a tank in May - other than that they were fully booked until almost November. They were a pleasure to deal with, and the tank looks great - I've included some pics of the packaging and product for those who may be interested. I'll post pics of the installation later in the year (after doing more research on this site to understand all the steps involved).

I think if going to all that trouble I would have redesigned it to have the gauge hole on the top surface instead of in the troublesome position on the side.

Probably a screw on fitting too instead of numerous bolts.

I bought one a few years ago when my old one started leaking through various rust holes.. They are beautifully made, sensibly priced and it's still going strong

Hi folks, thanks for your replies. I'll definitely post updates/pics when I am able to set aside time for the install. They do offer various customizations for the tank, but I decided keeping it stock style would be the best fit for what I'm looking to do with my car - I have some extra bits on it (new radiator, electric fuel system. etc), but nothing that a subsequent owner couldn't easily put back to stock.
Thanks for the update on your tank, Carl - that's what I'm counting on as well - a clean, reliable, trouble free replacement.
I've included a couple of additional pics of the underside of the tank as well.

One word of warning?my original sender unit was catching on the internal baffle. dry check it first with an ohm meter to make sure the sender goes through it's full arc.
