hello everybody! remember the phrase in an old magazine (car+driver or maybe road+track - definately NOT autosport!) adjusting our carbs is a fiddlers paradise - i (in part) agree BUT maybe someone out there is more
experienced than I -----maybe 90% of U? - i tried all kinds of adjustments and am at a point where (without a running road) I?m real close: here?s the current setup:
10,4mm lift (cam)
about 310? duration
extra large Valves in and ex! 43mm in! 36 or so ex
40dcoe 31
air correction 180 (just tried 160 - not enough fuel for 7000rp - so went back to 180 - almost perfect)
main jet 145 (160 was too much i reckon: black plugs!)
idle jet 50 F8
choke 33
emulsion t. F11
ANY REAL GOOD IDEAS FOLKS????????????????? really grateful for any slick ideas! thanks sandy j 4982

Go and have a look through the Yahoo sidedraft central group it has everything you ever want to know and if not you can get the answer for a good starting point but it sounds like you have found that already.
In the end however there is enough variation in details of engines and fuel to make some time on a dyno needed to get it finally right even with a standard engine let alone a modified one.
cheers
Rohan

What symptoms are you experiencing? I agree with Rohan; spend about a week on the Sidedraft Central yahoo site (it'll take that long to read all the posts) and you'll get as close as you can get to eliminate your symptoms.
