Salut Pistacchio
Where did you get the black one?
And everyone else - is one supposed to use Hylomer (or a silicone) to seal the airbox to the back plate? I seem to remember having and losing a rubber seal. They're available on eBay for Elans but I haven't found a source for +2s.

Vernon. One can buy both from Sue Miller... I did anyway..
And... I run a bead of Black Silicone around the carb' backplate. I kinda fill up the corner radius as per the sticker's instructions, but not with Hylomar. When that seal gets a bit 'worn' I scrape it out and lay another in its place. Lasts for ages though..
Don't overtighten the bolts holding the airbox. You can damage the airbox and oversquash (tech' term ) the silicone garket. The backplates are the same for both cars I think.

I don't think that position is correct Cedric. If you look at the pic' in the link Tim sent you, you should note that the sticker should be applied to the Carb' backplate ass'y. The picture shows an engine without the aibox /cover fitted and the sticker is on the metal backplate. You have fitted it to the airbox / cover.
Looks like the decal may need a trim before application or it may be a bit big for the correct location shown in Tim's picture.

Yep i know you re right. It would have required a lot of trim as the backplate Ain ?t very thick.
So i choosed to stick it there...

Even With a lot of trim it would never fit. Unless you get rid of the title IMPORTANT. See by yourself...

Yes it is tight. But I think with careful surgery it can be made to fit.. I will give it a try and see what happens.
Where does the other one go Guys???

Ok no big risk anyway. It is just a sticker. Do your best and show us the result...

I think you could get it on with a bit of "chopping" .....well it looks like it would although you may have to bend it over the edge
Think I'll try printing some out and maybe reduce the size slightly

Hi Alex
As far as I know Sue's are the correct size. The white & red decal does need a trim and it does fit slightly over the curve of the backplate.
The black one sits in front of the white sticker but on the airbox, again in the middle (if you know what I mean).
I dont have a picture to post but of all of the original pictures & cars I have seen, that is where they tend to go. I suppose it depended on where the fitter at the factory decided exactly on the day.
I hope that helps.
