HAVE NOT SEEN A LOT ABOUT CARB SET UP SOOOO THE CHEAPEST WAY IS TO GET A SPRAY BOTTLE AND WET THE HEADER ONE RUNNER AT A TIME AND GUAUGE THE EVAPORATION RATE second blow some money and buy a remote thermometer so you can read the temperature of each runner individually --ed

Ed,
There is a ton going on for Webers:

though not on this site so I must accept your point. So I am curious. Maximum thermodynamic efficiency is attained when the exhaust temperature is zero Kelvin, meaning ice on the exhaust header. How do you recommend we interpret setup status, by comparing rates of evaporation of water sprayed on each exhaust outlet stub? Just going for all at the same rate?

Zero Kelvin = minus 273.15 degrees Celsius!!!

MAY BE Mr Newton is confused about gravity too ---ed

Apparently neither you nor Ed have been trained in thermodynamics. I know fully well what zero Kelvin is and that it defines 100% thermodynamic (Carnot) efficiency for engine exhaust temperature, an ideal but unrealistic state. I was using that absurd example in hopes to extract a complete description from Ed in what he looks for when he sprays water on his exhaust manifold. Is it water or a Molson metabolite? Ed's suggestion is one way of checking that the combustion conditions are the same in all cylinders, but they could all be too rich or too lean. There is a big difference between determining that four values are the same opposed to determining if any of them are correct or what is sought. Think, please, before posting waste disinformation. Wow, my first flame response.

Dear CBUEB1771,
Zero Kelvin is minus 273.15 Celsius whether or not one is trained in thermodynamics. If you were making a technical point that is well understood by thermodynamic specialists then you should have explained it clearly for the rest of us who are not so well informed. Perhaps you could do so now and bring a little light to this matter instead of heat.

well about 260 to 280 Celsius is good for me on the exhaust runner -for evaporation time --at the bend as we didn't always have a remote projecting thermometer there at the tracks ---HELL they were not even thought of then-------no Im not a thermal dynamist nor a nuclear physicist just an old fart racer who was sharing some information I found worked but Im pleased you felt it necessary to share your extensive training with us --thanks -there was a F F racer who requested '0' as a number for his car in the 60s and was denied by the CASC as 0 was not a number in their eyes so he asked and was given permission to put number 273 on -absolute 0 --Gary Magwood always thinking -the stuff of legends ---NEwton ---- we treat your ;first flame ' you are so proud of here with the distain it deserves------
