New fuel pump or repair old one?

PostPost by: AHM » Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:56 pm

Hi All,

With the bits from the S3 I have a new glass bowl fuel pump.

My question is - Is it worth much?

If it is I'll repair the old one and sell it. If not I'll save myself the time and use it.

Hi Simon,
NOS glass bowl fuel pumps have sold for good money on ebay in the recent past but before you decide to sell yours and repair your old pump have a read through this post.......

I would be inclined to use the new pump and sell the old one ...... or keep it as a spare.

I bought a re-conditioned pump from Mr Buckland for 65 quid. As they're such a faff to replace in situ I'd fit the new pump. And keep the old one as a spare!

... or remove it and fit a filter and an electric pump next to the fuel tank!
