Webber DCOE Velocity Stack Measurement Question

It doesn't seem that there is enough room between the end of my velocity stacks (especially the rear stack) and the air box. What size velocity stacks should I be using? How much room should there be between the stack and the air box? How should I measure the size of my existing stacks? That is from what to what. I have done some on line searches but found nothing definitive on the measurement. I believe it is from the end of the horn to the shoulder but to which shoulder?
This is for my Elan S3 with the later style air box.

Dean,
I believe all the information you need IS in here, but may have been covered within "Topics" about airbox options:
