Hi,
How are you?
I've found the simplest way is via the nose cone
I remove the grill and lie on the ground....cursing....plenty of WD40 and hey presto!
I think I tried from above, after removing the bonnet, but seem to remember the nose cone access was easier.
Depending on how long ago the filter was last changed (assuming you have the standard nose cone airbox) you may need to slowly pry the box open with a screwdriver.
Take care,
Peter

I have always done the reverse and removed the bonnet (hood). A socket on a long extension makes it easy to remove the 2 pivot bolts, remove the prop locating nut and unplug the light wires and its off.
I find it easier than lying on the ground working through the nose - but then I am not as young as i used to be, maybe if I had a hoist i would do it that way
cheers
