S4 NEW DASH FITMENT/WEBER CARB TUNING

PostPost by: TRACKMEISTER » Sun Aug 31, 2008 8:17 pm

My S4 DHC needs a replacement dash fitting and I do not currently have time.

Anybody know anyone in the Yorkshire area who can be trusted to carry out the job?

My Webers need setting up too, any reccomendations in Yorkshire area?

Thanks

Can't help with the dash board, but there are two Weber men I would recommend.
If you are in North Yorks. the man I would use is Ron Harper near Stokesley. He's been building race cars for other people and racing cars himself for many years and is now semi-retired, just doing work that interests him - ie tuning. He's a Weber specialist and carries lots of spare bits for them. He also has a full diagnostic machine so he's not just working "by ear". Sorted out my car when it was mis-firing and cutting out, and he's not expensive. His mobile is 07764 354336. He's a perfectionist as well as a good bloke. Mention my name - Simon Robinson - I've got a red/white Sprint.
Also try Chris Foulds near Huddersfield. Runs a garage and there's nothing he doesn't know about Elans, and he has a good mechanic. More expensive but may be more convenient for you. 01484 666552

Dash done...............6 hours, quite straightforward, a few suspicious looking melted wires, and a working ammeter behind the dashboard (!)
Bit of soldering needed, fixed a faulty electric window switch, but looks repslendent........may need to replace the big bolts that hold the dash in place as the ends are a bit rusty
