A few parts missing

PostPost by: how_lotus » Sun Sep 08, 2024 11:32 am

After several years without an Elan I have recently purchased my retirement project. It's a series 4 FHC but has a few bits missing. Namely I need a rear screen (I know difficult), ash tray and both de-mister nozzles ( the part that sits just under the vents on the dash top). I know I can purchase a plastic rear screen as a temporary measure. Any help with these parts much appreciated.

Thanks Tony. I did try Sue Miller but no luck. I am talking to another member who may be able to help with the vents/nozzles and ashtray.

Does anybody know if the de-mister nozzles on a series 4 Elan are the same as the +2? This might make finding them a little easier.

Howard
If its any help here are the part numbers for these vents from the Elan factory parts book
050 B 6047 LH
050 B 6048 RH

Perhaps someone with a +2 Parts Book can check the numbers in there to cross reference them with mine to see if they are the same

The part numbers start with 50 which indicates they originate from the +2 not the elan.
'73 +2 130/5 RHD, now on the road and very slowly rolling though a "restoration"

My inventry lists show that I have 7 vents in stock. The box that they are in is buried as I have had them for 40 odd years. They will cost £60 for a pair posted. If the price is acceptable to you, I will start digging and take some pictures. Let me know if interested. Probably got an ashtray as well.

Thats fine Howard. Make sure that whos ever you buy, have 2 fixing tabs EACH side. They overlap each other to form one fixing. If one is broken off, they do not fix to the crashpad correctly.

Best,
