Heater fan

I am pretty darn sure I know the answer. But thought I would ask- just in case.
S3, heater fan. Mine is noisy, like something is in there bouncing around perhaps.
Is the only way to remove fan is remove dash first?
It is just annoying at this point. But someday I would like to fix. I think I also read fans are not available anymore?
