Elan Sprint Mechanical Fan

I have seen a number of Federal Sprints fitted with a multi-blade white or orange plastic fan mounted on the water pump boss. I think this was an act of desperation by the dealers or importer to solve cooling issues in hot regions.
My car had one, which I removed... I will post a picture once I return to the US next week,

I don’t think so… but happy to be corrected.
They do have a larger radiator fan motor with a large 4 blade metal fan that can draw blood.

Its quite possible that some of the early production run of a new series had the older series radiator components
I know a S3 owner whose Elan came with an S2 radiator and a S4 Elan that came with the wider S3 radiator.

I've seen some early S3 pre-airflow fhc's with S2 radiators and late S2 S/E's with the wider thinner S3 radiator.
I thought I'd read somewhere or somebody told me that some Federal Sprints had the earlier wider rad, but like the plastic fan, as Phil said, it could have been a dealer modification.
