Cam cover colour

I know this has been raised before but which engine was the cam cover painted plain satin(?) black, I know some of the Big Valve engine had a crackle black finish.

Also there used to be some conjecture about the earlier blue cam covers and again way back when, I matched this colour to a Ford colour that was in use at the time of those cam covers, the colour turned out to be Ford Alcuda Blue Metallic, and I think was used on the Ford Zephyr/Zodiac range.
