Engine weight?

Wondering if anyone has the data to tell me the differences in weight of the Twin Cam, Zetec, and Duratek. Just curious.

Thanks, I would think that the aluminum block Duratec would be lighter.

Duratec 2.0l are around 110kg.
Zetec around 100kg.
This is all from the internet that I’ve seen over the years and obviously changes with flywheel, inlet, alternator weights and sizes.
Twin cam I’ve no idea.

Having lifted them all onto the kitchen table/bench - on my own and when a LOT younger - I would say they really are very similar in weight.

That said, I found the Zetec to be easier to lug around, possibly something related to weight distribution.

Not doing it again... :D

Hello Kurt,

I weighed my rebuilt TC with distributor, water pump, webers and a new coat of grey paint but without clutch, fuel pump or manifold and it came out at 100 kg.

I hope this is useful!
