Crank and waterpump pullies

Please can/will someone confirm that crossflow front crank pullies and waterpump pulley PCD are interchangeable with pre-crossflow?
To be precise, will this kit fit the Elan Twin Cam?

Thanks!

The position of the belt relative to the block is the same between the xflow and the LTC. The crankshaft pulley is different in offset by about 1mm because the timing chain sprocket is different in thickness. The different in offset compensates for the difference in sprocket thickness so the belt ends up in the same position. You are best to ask the supplier if this will fit or not. There’s less clearance for the water pump pulley on a LTC because of the thickness of the front cover and this one may not fit

Hi Hal,
I have had this kit from Burton Power fitted to my S4 for the last 12 years.

The toothed belt can be left quite loose.
Cheers,
Colin.

Thanks Colin, that is great and answers the question!
I tried Burton for this, but all I found was one for racing - just the crank and water pump pulley. I will call them on Monday and order.
Maybe the same reason, but I want to minimise the load on my waterpump. Interesting that you have had this kit on the car for twelve years - may I assume that during this time, the waterpump has not been touched..?
TBG - interesting! Did you never get a reason for this happening?

Hal - I think the thoughts from those in the know was some sort of resonance causing the fractures. I fitted them to reduce the load on the water pump so that was a busted flush. I have bored all of you on here for a long time with my twin belt system that works so well. Any one want drawings just let me know. Rather an old photo - better set up now. D

I would very much be interested in a dimensioned drawing for the dual crank pulley.

Hi Hal,
Correct, fitted the Gilmer drive (toothed drive) to run the belt at minimum tension to prolong the life of the water pump. I have done 60,000 miles since water pump and gilmer drive fitted. I believe, that this is much longer than most (stressing most) twincam water pumps last. I do change coolant on a regular basis, and keep an eye on the water pump weep hole for any telltail signs of failure.
I have not had to change the toothed belt in all that time. I do carry a spare though.
Just remembered, the crankshaft pulley has to be notched to coincide with TDC.
Cheers Colin.
