Crankshaft removal

I'm in the middle of dismantling my engine and have the crankshaft ready to come out. The crankshaft rocks but seems to be held at each end by what appear to be seals of some kind. Pictures attached. As seems to be the case the manual is unhelpful. How should I proceed without buggering anything up?

Nothing so grand as leaves Mike, but I am quite partial to a bit of bush in the evenings

London boy myself Mike, Old Kent Rd, East London, North London, you name it, we were all over it. Happy days, long gone now. You didn't realise what a good time you were having until it was all over.

Hi Leslie,
Yes, those were the days. My Aunt lived in Pilton Place off East street, The Old Kent Road where the market was/is. I went to Uni. in the East End - Whitechapel Road, and lived in Chadwell Heath before moving Stateside in the mid 1970s.
Best,
Mike
