Lotus Cortina Engine

A local carb specialist in Auckland is looking to spruce up a original Mk1? L. Cortina. The cam cover looks like it was silver, it has two rectangle casting marks on each side about 7mm wide but no words, which seems a little odd.

M.Wilkins says these were painted Silver, anybody think to differ and or have paint code.

The cam cover appears to be from around 1967 or 68 when Lotus changed from having the logo on each cam bank to the front of the cover. When the change was made they modified the moulds that left a rectangular shadow where the Lotus script used to be. This remained for a couple of years and then they must have remade the moulds as the rectangles disappeared.
