Sprint cams vs 360 cams

Hi

Are the sprint cams similar to the 360? What is better to upgrade to the Sprint or 360 cams…

Cheers

A Sprint cam has .360" of GROSS lift (ie NETT lift will be 0.360" minus the valve clearance). Most cams are listed with their GROSS lift to make them sound better than they are, but to also account for the users own choice on valve clearances depending on user preference (at their own risk of using clearances outside of "normal" procedure).

The question now is - how much duration does the replacement 360 cam have?

If your talking about the QED 360 cam its duration is 280 degrees and slightly longer than the original sprint cam that was 272 degrees. This will give more top end power and maybe a little less midrange torque depending on the actual lobe profile. They state a faster rise and that will help midrange torque by compensating for the longer duration. you could use a bit higher compression ratio at say 10.5:1 versus the original sprint 10.3:1 with this cam due to its longer duration also and you may have that already as most cylinder heads have some machining by now
