Basic query again I'm afraid. Having my S4 on stromberg engine rebuilt. I appear to have SE cams as 1 groove on the disc.
At present the inlet cam is etched as exhaust and exhaust as inlet! Does this matter ie aren't they both the same profile as standard?
Thanks
Miles

I actually had an annoying misfire so the point of my question was were the cams potentially put in wrong at last build, or does it not matter as they are the same profile?

The cams are interchangeable but the sprockets are not. The sprocket marked EX must be fitted to the camshaft on the exhaust side.

According to Miles Wilkins book ....
Standard Stromberg engines have "C" type, single groove, S/E cams
S/E Stromberg engines have "D" type, double groove, Sprint cams

A totally useless post that I expect on other car forums but not here. Ok with a smiley and apology for bad joke but not as a straight statement IMHO, I know chat forum protocol is tricky but.....
sorry to be so negative but pissed off with our continuing lockdown and missing out on my racing
cheers
