Hi

What’s the best modular water pump system from the different suppliers?

Cheers

There appears to be two ones being made.

The UK one sold by the usual suppliers there. The biggest issue is the accuracy of the casting and sometimes very thin lips of metal left after the groove for the O-ring seal is machined.

The USA one sold by Dave Bean ( and maybe others there). The issues I have seen with this in a couple of them was casting porosity but that was a few years ago now and potentially that has been rectified.

On either you may need to do some minor filing adjustments to get the front cover to back plate fit correct where the chain guide fits and the back plate recess to align properly and clear the plug in the block

There's actually 1/2 a book dedicated to the Bean catridge water pump in Rob Siegal's "The Lotus Chronicles".

Rob had many issues with the machining of the housings.

Anyone know anything about Tony Ingram's water pump (scroll down in https://lotus7.com/LOTUS_ENGINE_PARTS.html) ? Is it the Bean pump?
