Hello,
I have a Payen AF880 head gasket. Which side goes up? The only way it would fit is copper up and I am not sure if that is correct.
Thanks,
Max

You can't fit the head gasket the wrong way round - the holes etc will be in the wrong place if you do. But to answer your question, the copper side faces the cylinder head face.

if it's designed for a crossflow rather than a Lotus Twin Cam, I'd be very cautious to save on that, double checking oil and water passageways etc (read : I would install a proper head gasket)...

Thanks for the responses.
This is the head gasket. As said before, copper side up is the only way it fits. So, technically it is the correct one it seems.
Thanks,
Max

Might be worth double checking the small water flow holes and the oilway location....they may need a little fettling..
