I know distances in the UK seem longer than in Australia but Guildford to Kimbolton is less than I drive to get across Melbourne from one side to the other to get to my crankshaft machining specialist
If they know what they are doing the drive will be worth it.
cheers

I entirely agree with Rohan. Do it correctly and only do it once. There is always time to do it again, but never time to do it correctly. You may have heard such things before.
In my case I took my engine machining work to Coventry Boring and Metalling who made a mess of my cylinder head. After much work and hassle I got some money back from CBM, and took the head to Serdi UK. All I saved by going to CBM was about an hours driving time. The hassle took months and a couple of hundred £s

I hate to have to say it on an open forum, but proceed with caution there. I have direct experience there and wouldn't wish to repeat it.
That’s interesting. I have no personal experience.....nearly used them 18 months ago, but went elsewhere in the end.
Regards

I would agree with the others here who aren't so bothered about distance. The quality of the re-build is all-important. My engine was rebuilt a year ago by JW Engines at Tamworth and is spot-on. I didn't have it done, the previouis owner did it. James is an ex-employee of JS Motorsport (John Smirthwaite, ( famed for race-twincams), who branched out on his own, and has a wealth of TC experience. So far it has been faultless.
