pistons

PostPost by: street » Mon Oct 05, 2020 9:05 pm

Head has gone to KW Historics this morning (Auckland) for new valve sleeves etc. Will remove block over the weekend. Pot 3 has some scores (vertical) that can be felt so at this stage preparing for re-bore.

The head has been re-sleeved and runs BRF Standard pistons, now the real question, do i only change the one piston (i will change rings with engine out as it stood for 4 years to all pots). Is this a major crime, dont really see the (or understand) issue with running one pot at 0.003 inch larger.

Responses more than welcome.

thanks

I'm in Sydney and have a few sets of Hepolite factory oversize pistons squirrelled away, if it helps I'm happy to part with a set, I'll check what oversize they are tomorrow.

Cheers
