You might want to look at an aluminium radiator for a VW Golf if you don't want to spend a lot of money. TTR stuff is excellent and I have a lot of it on my car but it is expensive. The Golf rad requires a couple of extra screws and a modified top hose but is extremely efficient. Even on the hottest days the gauge sits at 77c with my 1760cc engine.

Pretty sure its the early Golf, mk1? I just looked on ebay for aluminium radiators and the dimensions. This looks like mine: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALUMINIUM-AL ... SwgApW~bd-

My Westfield is fitted with a Golf MK 2 radiator. Aluminum core, plastic tanks, 20.5" x 13" x 2" plus another 1/4" in width to account for the hose bump outs. It's extremely light at just 1.756kg, and keeps a 210hp Duratec cool in 35c weather...in stop and go traffic. Of course a strong fan is required, but it's more than up to the job for even a modified twincam. BTW there is also a Polo version available, but that is single, rather than dual core.
