Anyone have a pair of old cylinder head bolts they can spare? I want to make a pair of guides for placing the head on the block...
Will pay for postage to either in the UK (I'll be there Sat - Monday) or in the US.
Thanks in advance

Hi Phil,
Just a suggestion, I purchased two 6" long 7/16"-14 thread (from memory, you should bring head bolt to match up) bolts from local true value hardware, cut the heads off and worked like a charm(you can add slot on head for easy removal) The bolt size was only available in grade 8 but less than a few bucks a piece.

I did like David D, but found cheapo grade 5 in True Value. Work fine!

Many years ago I did something similar. Got a couple of cheap long bolts with the correct thread and cut the heads off. As they don't need to be more than finger tight in the block I didn't even slot the top. I just put a crude chamfer at the top to ease alignment. I think the ones I made were for my FF1600 but will probably fit a Lotus Twin Cam (Ford) block as well. I never throw out any tools I make even if I don't have the vehicle for which they were originally fabricated.
